The line-up for new shows on Disney Plus this April look really appealing. I have already flagged the show shows I will be viewing.

This month’s top picks by us are nice blend of animation, Live action movies and even an original movie. And of course, Elephants, big beautiful and majestic Elephants.

Star Wars Young Jedi Adventures 24 April 2023

Star Wars has always been close to my heart, it a love I want to pass on to my kids. I believe this will be the perfect gateway to bring them to the ways of the Jedi. It looks fun enough for adults to enjoy. It is set well before the event of the Skywalker saga, so no fear of Anakin arriving to the temple in a season finale. It features a very different style to anything in history. I like the animation style they have chosen; it is smooth and easy on the eyes. Yoda is the only traditional character we will find in this show. Soon Enough the show cannot come.

Peter Pan and Wendy 28 April 2023

This is the retelling of the well-loved Disney classic, this time it will be lie action, which is the route the house of mouse is taking with all their classics. SO far each has been nothing but pure joy to behold.

Peter Pan and Wendy looks to be an adventure for the whole family. Of course, there will be some new twist and takes on the original. Directed by David Lowrey, the story shall follow Wendy as she meets the Pan. He will take her on a magic carpet… no wait wrong reference. He will teach her to fly and battle the infamous Captain Hook (my favourite character from this story). With Jude Law as the one-handed pirate, it is one of those soon to be classics. It will be interesting to see how the new take plays out.

Secrets of Elephants 22 April 2023

Who doesn’t love elephants? Exactly, a new documentary about the gentle giants. We get to learn about their massive bran and how it helps them in strategic thinking. Their very sophisticated language is also explored in this wonderful series about, well everything on our big eared friends. Bring the kids along and watch these magnificent creatures in all their splendor.

The Crossover 5 April 2023

Based on the critically acclaimed best-selling novel in-verse by Kwame Alexander, “The Crossover” introduces teen brothers Josh and Jordan Bell, widely considered basketball phenoms. Through his lyrical poetry, an adult version of Josh, aka Filthy McNasty, narrates the story of he and his brother’s coming of age, on and off the court, as their former professional basketball player father adjusts to life after basketball, and their mother finally pursues lifelong dreams of her own.

Also don’t forget the Mandalorian season 3 is currently streaming on Disney Plus. If you haven’t already started… what are you waiting for? It is the best season so far with some special surprises for you.
