To me a keyboard was just a keyboard, there was never a reason to upgrade to a better spec unless the one in possession failed. Even then stock keyboards where cheap. Then Logitech sends not one but two to test.
Now most of my gaming predominantly happens on console and therefore does not warrant a keyboard, well not of this genre anyway. I was still keen to both test and research keyboards. The two keyboards that was given to me where the G413 TKL SE and G413 SE. Both are essentially the same with most distinguishing difference being on the TKL as it is shorter keyboard. The short is (pun intended) the TLK just had a tummy tuck and removed the numeric keypad. I had very mixed feelings about this as my day job is working with figures and I spend most of finger pressing time on that side of the keyboards.

Push the Button
I am not going to go into pricing as my research had some varying prices across the country. What I will touch on is that compared to other boards in the market it is very well priced. However, we must be mindful that this is an entry level keyboard or mid-range at best, depending on perspective.
Both the G413 TKL SE and G413 SE are descendants of the older G413 from way back in 2017. It has a 6-key roll over meaning you will be able to press fewer key simultaneously before it gets confused. This time around they come with white backlighting, whereas previously red and white options where available. I feel this is a bit of a let-down, as multiple colours could have been easily applied.

The two boards use Chery MX-Style switches rather than the more traditional Romer-G, meaning you will be able to swap out caps for a more personalised appearance. A standard feature on aftermarket keyboards, but still a fun one to have. There are some cool configs out there.
It does not have USB pass through, which is not a train smash, but when designing a new board, it is always good to include ease of access functionality. It is the little conveniences that are often most appreciated.

Verdict
Both G413 TKL SE and G413 SE are worthy purchases, well built and durable. Even in day to day use they still feel comfortable, however not as nice as those soft touch ones. However, that was never its intended purpose.
The keys doe indeed feels responsive and are crisp and well lit. There is not much between the two others than the obvious. If I must choose between the two then I would go for the full board G413 SE as it would serve my dual purpose. Without the need for numbers then the decision is clear. Go Ten Key Less and save space and keep it compact.
As always Logitech delivers of creating peripherals that find the ballonet between price and performance.
