The time is almost upon us where we must bid farewell to the cast of Stranger Things. It has been a wild ride. The show managed to do what very few could. Keep levelling up the quality with great story telling. A huge highlight being the fleshing out of Vecna’s backstory. The show did prey a little on our nostalgia for the 80’s but executed it with class.

With the last few episodes out early July the internet is rife with theories of how it will all end. If you prefer not to know or even guess, best you stop reading now.

Will

From the very first episode Will has been connected to the Upside Down and even the Mind Flayer itself. He has been through a lot… a quite little bot thrust into a world of madness. Sounds familiar? Well it should because that is very similar to No 001. And we all know what happens to him.

When we last see Will, he is walking around with some of his art that he has not shown anyone yet. Now based on his jealousy with Mike and Eleven most believe he will be coming out as gay. And sure, it is a fair possibility with the current Netflix trend. However, the previous character who came out did not drag that arc out and she was a bit of a surprise.

Will’s personality already steers that way or is at borderline at best. The reveal that he is gay would not have the impact it would, especially in the final few episodes. However, his similarities to Pre-Vecna may be more important that we think.

This leads us to believe he may also have powers that need to be unlocked. Whether he still fights along with the good guys or succumbs to the dark side; we will have to wait and see. Or maybe he goes full Vader and goes dark and returns to the light to help defeat Vecna and dies. Yes dies. Will is one of the top tiers flagged for Endgame glory.

If he does indeed go dark side, it will be most likely his brother’s death that pushes him over the edge.

Steve / Jonathan

Dear Steve has become one of the most beloved characters on the Stranger Things, his arc is perfect even if I do sound a little biased. Going form total douche to beloved hero. His character is either going to find his happy ending or die trying…. literally.

Steve has grown into quite a hero, one who is willing to risk his life for his friends. I think this time around he may take it to the max. Nancy is defiantly someone who he is ready to die for.  The exact same applies for Jonathan, with Will’s brother having much more far reaching repercussions. As mention above, it could lead to dead quite and sweet Will going full on supervillain.

Eleven

The superstar of Stranger Things needs no introduction. As we saw in the last few episodes, she is the one who pushed Vecna Junior into the Upside Down. She does (or did) have more power than him at that time. With here power returning, she will need all of it to destroy him.

Eleven dying is also a bit on the nose. While self-sacrifice is very much in line with her character, it feels a bit too MCU for such original creators to pull on us. I would lean on her trapping herself in the Upside Down to protect those she loved.

Others

There is no safe bet as to who walks away unscathed, but if I had to put my money down on one it would be Dustin (Grrrr). The kid never wavers and is frankly the big brain of the crew. Stranger Things is about to go Russian roulette on our unsuspecting selves. It going to be a wild ride.
