Jada Toys, a well-known manufacturer of collectible toys and die-cast vehicles, has recently expanded its product line to include a range of Street Fighter themed action figures and vehicles. As a fan of the Street Fighter franchise, I was excited to get my hands on some of these new offerings and see how they stack up. Here’s a detailed review of what I found:
Action Figures:
Jada Toys’ Street Fighter action figures are a delightful addition to the collectibles market. Each figure is well-crafted with attention to detail, capturing the essence of the iconic characters from the game. From the ripped muscles of Ryu to the dazzling attire of Chun-Li, the figures truly bring the characters to life. The paintwork is impressive, with vibrant and accurate colors that stay true to the original designs. The limited edition RYU is my personal pick. Firstly the box is massive and has beautiful artwork. Artwork so good, I was reluctant to open it, but then I heard a “Hadoken” , echo from within the box.
Ryu comes with oodles of accessories, from 2 fireballs to the Japanese signage from his stage. The best bit is that once has shatter effect to mimic the game.
Chun-li is another great figure, which pretty much nails the character. She also comes with an alternate head sculpt. The secondary sculpt is far superior than the one that comes fitted on. So of course i changed it immediately. She is quite flexible too, offering a much more possibility than the Ryu or Fei Long. Speaking of Long, he was the last of them i got and long with “normal” Ryu completes the first wave.
Articulation is another standout feature of these action figures. They are fully posable, allowing for a wide range of dynamic and martial arts-inspired poses. This level of articulation adds an extra layer of playability and allows enthusiasts to recreate their favorite fight scenes or display the figures in various action-packed stances. Let us not forget the “powers” included. These figures come with accessories that imitate their powers or signature moves. This allows us to create some spectacular poses.
The standard figures feel really premium, but again the packaging just stick the landing. Each figure comes in this lovely window packaging that resembles an arcade machine. Whoever is the lead designer at Jada deserves a promotion. Honestly the only safe thing to do is to buy two. One to display out of box and one in box.
I also love that it is a small wave. most figures in the price range come between 6-10 figures a wave. This can get pricey. so a smaller wave does ease up the strain in the fragile wallet.
Vehicles
We also managed to get our hands on the Street Fighter Vehicles. Each car is designed with a character and brings in the personality of them as well. Guile comes in with his old school American Truck with some mods. It really captures his tough demeanor and strength. Unlike the other two, it isn’t in hos traditional green attire but rather a matt like grey. It does feel like something Guile would own.
Cammy and Chun-Li have some nice tuner cars with mad graphics and decals on them. They very much embody them in colour and style. Chun-Li’s ride is my pick for favourite as the white trims really bring her buns into one mind. Much like the fighters they very much speedsters.
Jada always seems to deliver well on their cars. Having done the Fast and Furious cars for some time now, they have a good understanding of the detail the market calls for. These cars are in line with that detail. they feel very premium and do weigh a lot. the wheel roll freely with just the right amount of friction.
