Stranger Things Season 3 is currently airing on Netflix, and like most of you, I am already on my second viewing. There is no doubt that it is a fun and exciting show. It also left us with a cliffhanger like nobody’s business. That leaves us with few questions.
Is Hopper Dead?
This is the most talked about questions after the spectacular season 3 finale. He is a key cast member and has a greater chance of returning than being kept dead. Also, the previous season has a death in the finale. Having Bob remain dead was key in moving forward with this season. However, they can play the same card twice. Or can they?
So what did happen to Hawkins star sheriff?
While nothing is off the table, it would a tragedy to not have him return in some heroic fashion. Alternatively, the entire fourth season could be geared to saving him. In fact, the bread crumbs have been laid in the post-credits scene, but more on that later. With a show like this, it is hard to tell how they will play it. Most likely he gets sucked into the Upside Down. This seems like the obvious route. But I would like to add my bit which is that Eleven’s power is within him now. Yes, it didn’t disappear. It went to the man she loved to protect him.
Is the American actually Hopper?
Most likely, but what if, just what if its Martin Brenner? That sounds about like a proper Netflix twist. But in the more likely scenario, having Hopper saved from the Upside Down by the enemy opens up a lot of interesting doors.
Are Eleven’s Power’s gone forever?
I hardly think so, doing that would simply bring her character development into a screeching halt. No. Yes we will see her without her powers, and that will allow us to explore her more deeply as an individual. But her powers were a key element of her, it was never her defining characteristic. It is he nativity. I think we can expect her powers to return midway through the fourth season.
Will (or Should) the Mind Flayer Return
Firstly it will return. As the only creature from the alternate dimension to actually “speak” it would be silly not to have it return. Should it though? Well unless they can amp it up with a newer bigger baddy, then yes. Having a larger threat isn’t always better. Personally, I would rather see the Flayer developed. There should be more motive than just remaining in our world.
What about the Demogorgon?
Well, we know its back via the post-credits scene. Since it is in the possession of the Russians maybe they can find a way to control it for a limited time. Then have it reject the control. Its rampage through the facility could help the above mention, Hopper, escape. It would make an interesting Alien style episode.
And Last but not Least. What will happen to Steve’s hair?
That I leave to your imagination….
