Transformers has always been about the War for Cybertron if you really think about it. Whether the battle was fought on the planet of robots in disguise or here on good old earth. The show is a question that beautifully takes us back to the war.

The Netflix show began its trilogy that may span over 3 years. The animation is beautifully rendered in this unique blend that combines the movies feel along with the G1 series in a very fitting modern take. Maybe everything the movies could have been. But without Peter Cullen voicing the commanding Optimus Prime it evades perfection.

The show does redeem itself by the mirroring of Professor X and Magneto in the leaders of Prime and Megatron. The deepening of Megatron’s character is very much welcomed. Him, first rejecting Starscreams pitch in concern for even the Autobots made him so much more compelling. Gone was the single visioned, one dimensions villain. That’s right Transformer went philosophical on us and I could not be happier.

Forget the recent, kids targeting animations, Transformers is back baby. The Six-part first chapter is jammed packed with story, action, and fun. Transformers: War for Cybertron: Siege is streaming now on Netflix.
