Beautiful mountains and wildlife, wine farms and nightclubs that could keep you busy for hours, Cape Town has quite literally something for everyone.

The part of Cape Town that most don’t take into account would be the gaming industry as well as it’s impact on economic growth in the mother city.

It’s no wonder so many new companies are taking on the gap in the market and opening businesses that’s sole role would depend on gamer’s.

The economic growth that gaming has created has also been extremely positive in the expos that have been made possible by the huge amount of gaming enthusiasts that support the movement.

The growth in cosplay well as lanning sessions and tournaments has been especially evident over the past ten years as parents realize the potential that gaming has because of big names in the industry.

Unfortunately South Africa is still not at a stage where enthusiasts could use it as a full time career, however you see many more schools that offer classes that train students in preparation for a future in gaming.

One thing is for sure, with gaming that has yet to reach it’s peak, I look forward to seeing what gaming has in store for the future of Cape Town, let alone South Africa.
