SEGA dropped it like it’s hot for its 60th anniversary, giving us the Game Gear Micro. It has us gushing like little kids. Launching October 6th in tribute to its predecessor’s 1990 release. It comes it nostalgic 4 color variations.
Each color comes with just four games. The yellow comes with includes Shining Force, Shining Force II, Shining Force Final Conflict, and a version of Puyo Puyo. The blue has Sonic & Tails, Gunstar Heroes, Sylvan Tale, and Baku Baku Animal. While the black includes Sonic the Hedgehog, Puyo Puyo (a different version ), OutRun, and Royal Stone. And finally, the red version includes Last Bible, Last Bible: Special, The G.G. Shinobi, and Columns.
I know it’s a bit on the nose with one having to buy all four to get all the games. But, look on the bright side you get to buy all the consoles. Those cute little bundles of colorful joy. Word is it will come packed in a tiny little housing with a 1.15inch screen slammed dead center. Armed with a headphone jack it is powered by lithium.
We really dig these as the original were great devices, however, it didn’t have a great run probably due to its inferior battery as opposed to its rival the Game Boy. But these are perfect little trinkets to tug around and feel like a kid again.
Here hoping this ray of hope in such trying time brings us some joy.
