There are a few artists whose music has transcended generations, Queen is clearly one of them. They never conformed to any particular formula and was genuinely original. Freddy Mercury the lead singer was something else entirely. Born Farrokh Bulsara, he would grow up to be one of the most iconic lead singers in history.

Bohemian Rhapsody chronicles his story from young adult to the bitter end as he succumbed to AIDs. It cleverly captures the era he created in all its mad glory. Directed by Bryan Singer best known for his X-Men movies and starring Rami Malek, it is the latest biopic of masterful music talents. I have grown to adore these biopics as I find them far more entertaining than any MTV special.

Rami is exceptional as Freddy, in fact, there are points where a second look is needed. He captures every detail of the Queen singers movements and oddities. Even his oddball speech and mannerisms are mirrored to perfection. Artist like these are larger than life and finding someone to so eloquently pull it off is no small feat.
Of course, no Freddy movie would be complete without all the key songs played, and Bohemian Rhapsody doesn’t shy away. From the titular song to the ground stopping Rock You, its all there and hitting you hard n the feels. This is a movie that starts off as a feel-good movie but becomes a real tear jerker towards the end. To most the overall arc and end of the story is no real surprise, but no matter how big of a fan you think you are I guarantee you will discover something you didn’t know yet. In fact, in all honesty, whether you a fan or not to watch it. It’s fresh, its feel good, its God damn Freddy Mercury…
